You may be asking yourself, "What is Reiki exactly?" Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing. In Japanese, Reiki means, "Universal life energy." This energy flows out of the hands of the Reiki Healer and is delivered to the client's energy fields by holding their hands close to the client's body, or occasionally through simple, non-invasive touch. The purpose is to remove blockages, re-align, and balance a person's vital energetic fields and aura, or Chakra system. Receiving this high vibration, Universal energy helps to eliminate stress, anxiety, pain, etc., and in turn, promotes physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual healing.
Why the need for Reiki? Well, simply put, we are all souls having a human experience. While the human experience is absolutely beautiful, sometimes, our lives can get super hectic, and every now and then, downright chaotic. Often, we may find ourselves struggling to maintain balance and eliminate, or reduce stress from our lives. Between work, being a parent, family & home life, trying to have a social life, etc., many of us, at one time or another, eventually suffer from "burn out", exhaustion, poor sleep, and more.
Not only can a Reiki session be very relaxing and calming, it helps us feel more grounded and releases, as well as removes, negative, stagnant, and stressful energy from our physical body and aura. When it comes to Reiki, think of it like taking care of a vehicle. For example, when we maintain our vehicle, do the necessary tune ups, and preventive maintenance, our vehicles operate smoothly and with minimal issues. This is how Reiki can help our mind, body, and spirit.
Reiki also helps to align our internal system within (AKA, the Chakra system) and keeps things running smoothly. When our mind, body, and spirit are in full alignment, we have less stress, fewer emotional problems, less disease and pain within the body, better sleep, and even more energy. Through the use of Reiki, we also learn how to connect to our Higher Self, learn the 5 principles of Reiki, and become more aware when we are not staying true to these very principles, our souls crave. Having regular Reiki sessions, or even practicing Reiki yourself, helps promote a happier, peaceful frame of mind, which in turn promotes a healthier body and spirit.
